My brother in law is one of those people that gets all worked up about getting camp fires started the old fashion way. Now cutting it shavings and using a flint and steel is fun and all, but I like to use starter fluid and a match.

In high school when I went camping with friends one of them lit campfires with gasoline. Today, a buddy and I sometimes light fires with kerosene. Those are cheating. A propane torch is just convenience.
